Empire New Canopy

Full concrete scope for a new canopy and loader fabrication facility at a heavy equipment dealership — demolition of existing concrete, excavation for footings and paving, and placement of over 2,500 cubic yards of concrete with 160,000 pounds of rebar. The project required precise placement of numerous embeds and large anchor bolts to tight tolerances.

High-capacity foundation package for a global equipment manufacturer: 40 caissons at 3 feet in diameter and 35 feet deep, 25 structural columns, 250,000 pounds of rebar, and 850 cubic yards of concrete, all self-performed.
Equipment Manufacturer — Specialized Vaults & Trenches
Mesa, AZ
Precision concrete work inside a live manufacturing facility, with alternative shoring methods developed to maintain safety around active operations. Scope included forming walls, placing 200 cubic yards of concrete, and installing 75,000 pounds of rebar for industrial trenches and equipment vaults.
Equipment Manufacturer — Critical Equipment MAT Slab
Mesa, AZ
A 4-foot thick MAT slab foundation for sensitive manufacturing equipment. A Mass Concrete Thermal Control Plan was developed and executed to manage heat of hydration and prevent structural cracking. Scope included 500 cubic yards of concrete and 115,000 pounds of rebar.
Phase I Civil & Foundation Package — Heavy Manufacturing Facility
Casa Grande, AZ
Degan performed the foundation and underground scope for a large-scale heavy manufacturing facility, running May through October 2023 across more than 45 distinct work areas. Over 1,100 cubic yards of concrete placed. Foundation types included equipment foundations, pedestals, seal slabs, containment curbs, sump pits, and truck scale structures. Underground work included 9,280 LF of HDPE pipe from 1-inch to 30-inch diameter, electrical duct banks, conduit trenches, chilled waterline encasements, and manholes throughout the site.
Honeywell AZ Expansion Phase 1 — Shear Wall Foundations
Chandler, AZ
Shear wall footing scope for Phase 1 of a major industrial facility expansion: layout, excavation, compaction, rebar, and concrete placement for 615 LF of continuous F60 shear wall footings, with engineered over-excavation and backfill where conditions required.
Floreo Water Reclamation Facility — Structural Concrete
West Valley, AZ
All structural flatwork and equipment foundation concrete across the Floreo WRF plant as concrete subcontractor. Scope covered the main packaged plant slab with clarifier and isolated equipment footings, housekeeping pads, filter and UV slab, and a belt filter press slab. Effluent and influent pump station slabs on grade and their cast-in-place concrete decks were also included.
Pinal Votes Civic Building — Structural & Site Concrete
Florence, AZ
Concrete subcontractor for the Pinal Votes civic facility in Florence under a subcontract with FCI Constructors. Base scope covered footings, stem walls, and structural slabs. Degan also poured a mezzanine slab, loading dock concrete, light pole bases, bollards, CMU wall and pier footings, landscape curb, concrete benches, monument sign footings, a gabion wall footing, a trash enclosure slab, and a precast concrete pipe installation.
Alta Earhardt Apartments — Structural Concrete Package
Chandler, AZ
Complete structural and site concrete package for a three-building multi-family residential development. Scope included isolated footings, concrete grade beams, and 11¼-inch post-tension slabs on grade across all four building phases, requiring precise coordination with the post-tensioning contractor on tendon layout, pour sequencing, and slab drop locations.
Storage Facility in Scottsdale — Building Concrete
Scottsdale, AZ
Structural and building concrete for a multi-story self-storage facility, including footings, cast-in-place walls, slab on grade with vapor barrier, and fiber-reinforced slab on metal deck. Ramp and stair walls were formed and poured as part of the building scope.
Glendale Fire Station #152 Concrete Replacement
Glendale, AZ
Removal and replacement of concrete paving at an active fire station while maintaining operations. Work included over-excavation to 12 feet, subgrade recompaction, catch basin replacement, grade adjustment for drainage, and placement of new 9.5-inch reinforced concrete pavement with rebar mat at 12-inch spacing.
City of Chandler Parks, Facilities & Water Infrastructure JOC
Chandler, AZ
Degan has held the City of Chandler’s Job Order Contract for concrete work since 2015, renewed annually. Work spans foundations, ADA upgrades, and concrete improvements at parks, public facilities, and water infrastructure including booster stations and treatment plants. Degan self-performs all work and coordinates directly with city staff around public use and active operations.
Ocotillo Water Treatment — Concrete R&R
Chandler, AZ
Demolition and removal of existing asphalt at a water treatment facility’s truck bin drop area, followed by subgrade preparation and placement of 8-inch reinforced concrete. New steel embed plates for dumpster infrastructure were drilled and epoxied into existing concrete.
111th Ave & Union Hill Drainage Improvements
Surprise, AZ
Degan constructed a comprehensive drainage system along 111th Avenue and Union Hills Drive, including concrete channels in both vertical and trapezoidal configurations, drop structures, retaining walls, headwalls, a drop inlet structure, a junction structure, and trashracks. Storm drain installation covered 11,300 LF of pipe ranging from 18-inch through 60-inch diameter, with associated manholes, laterals, and catch basins throughout. Channel excavation, detention basin improvements, grouted riprap removal, and new riprap construction were also included in the scope, along with handrail installation at the concrete channel structures.
Water Master Service Agreement
Phoenix Metro Area, AZ
Degan has held a master service agreement with a private water utility since 2013, renewed every year since. Over that time, more than 600 job orders have been completed spanning water main installation and replacement, valve and fire hydrant work, manhole rehabilitation, specialty coatings, booster station improvements, and emergency response. Degan self-performs the large majority of work on each job order, including time-sensitive shutdowns requiring MOPO work plans and fast turnaround.
Private Water Utility Master Service Agreement
San Tan Valley, AZ
When a private water utility took over management of a regional system, Degan was already in place as a service partner. The MSA covered new main installation, infrastructure replacement, manhole construction and rehabilitation, large diameter valve work, lift station repairs, and emergency response. Over 115 job orders were completed, including design services and engineer-stamped drawings for new water main installations.
Luke Fields Lift Station
Phoenix, AZ
Degan Construction was the general contractor on the multi-phase utility project: 3,800 LF of 15-inch gravity sewer, 11,500 LF of force main, 2,850 LF of waterline, a jack-and-bore crossing under a concrete channel, and a new lift station with wet well, pumps, CMU walls, and concrete foundations. Degan self-performed the lift station, concrete, and utility work while managing subcontractors for electrical, paving, and masonry.

Paradise Valley Water Main Replacement
Combined work included approximately 4,700 LF of 8-inch ductile iron pipe on Scottsdale Road, replacing an undersized 6-inch line abandoned in place.
Sunridge Drive Zone 2 & 3 Water Main Replacement
Fountain Hills, AZ
Replacement of two aging water mains in a private utility’s Fountain Hills distribution system. Construction included approximately 6,000 LF of 12-inch ductile iron pipe, 75 LF of 8-inch, and 335 LF of 6-inch DIP in an active residential and commercial corridor.
Gary Road Booster Pump Station Upgrades
San Tan Valley, AZ
Design-build contract for booster pump station upgrades: approximately 800 LF of 8-inch ductile iron waterline and a full removal and upgrade of the station’s pumps, control panel, and piping.
Cooper Road Water Main Upsizing
Degan served as the general contractor on this project completing the installation of 500 LF of 16-inch HDPE pipe and 70 LF of ductile iron pipe installed beneath two irrigation district easements using directional drilling.
Tomahawk Road Sewer at Apache Junction
Apache Junction, AZ
Degan served as the general contractor on this project completing the installation of 700 LF of 4-inch, 350 LF of 6-inch, and 1,000 LF of 8-inch PVC sewer line along with five manholes for a new sewer system.
Pinal Housing Authority New Sewer
Degan served as the general contractor on this project completing the full decommissioning of an existing sewer system and lift station, followed by installation of over 2,000 LF of new 6-inch and 8-inch sewer line and four sanitary manholes — demolition, removal, and new construction.
Copperwing Water Main Extension
El Mirage / Glendale, AZ
Degan served as the general contractor on this project completing the installation of over 15,000 LF of 16-inch ductile iron waterline along Olive Avenue through two municipalities, navigating numerous utility conflicts. A revised alignment was proposed that reduced project impacts and cost. Work included multiple intersection crossings, a jack-and-bore under BNSF railroad tracks, and coordination of several water shutdowns. Construction was completed with zero complaints received.
Buckeye 85
Tolleson, AZ
Degan completed the installation of over 2,000 LF of 12-inch ductile iron pipe across Maricopa County and City of Phoenix right-of-way. Degan coordinated with both municipalities on traffic control and communicated with businesses and residents ahead of each water shutdown, restoring service within the notified timeframe on every occasion.
TSMC Frontage Water Main

Over 16,000 LF of 16-inch ductile iron water main and approximately 2,700 LF of 42-inch and 30-inch vitrified clay pipe sewer as part of infrastructure build-out for a new semiconductor fabrication facility. Entire construction scope self-performed.
TSMC 43rd Avenue Sewer Structures
Phoenix, AZ
Approximately 2,400 LF of vitrified clay pipe sewer ranging from 10-inch to 42-inch diameter, cast-in-place junction structures, precast manholes, and protective coatings on all structures — all self-performed as a single scope.

Water main, sanitary sewer, and gas main improvements across three locations in Mesa, including over 2,000 LF of 8-inch waterline, 2,070 LF of 12-inch sanitary sewer, natural gas line installation, water sampling stations, and above-ground mechanical piping inside a water production booster station.
Parke West Sewer Replacement
Peoria, AZ
Degan completed the sewer line replacement through a high-traffic shopping and entertainment center parking lot, conducted after hours with close coordination with City of Peoria inspectors and surrounding tenants. Line replaced and paving restored within the scheduled timeframe.
Ironhorse Forcemain Extension
Phoenix, AZ
Force main extension for a private water utility, self-performing all excavation, pipe installation, and backfill with coordination with the utility’s operations team to tie in without interrupting service.
Ballpark Village — Underground Utilities
Goodyear, AZ
Full underground utility package for a mixed-use development: 1,870 LF of 8-inch SDR-35 sewer mainline, nine private manholes, over 1,650 LF of HDPE and 1,385 LF of large-diameter CMP storm drain, approximately 3,500 LF of water service pipe with meters and backflow prevention, and over 4,000 LF of fire line with 13 hydrants and dual backflow preventors.

Installation of 432 LF of 24-inch ductile iron pipe including excavation, pipe laying, backfill with full-depth CLSM, cathodic protection, and pressure testing.
Kingdom Hall Utilities
Maricopa, AZ
Degan installed water and sewer services for a new Kingdom Hall off Honeycutt Road, working directly with the congregation’s construction support organization. The project included an 8-inch water distribution main, backflow preventer, water, fire, and irrigation services, a new 6-inch sewer service, and a new manhole over an existing 24-inch sewer main. Work was coordinated around multiple adjacent schools, with a restricted construction schedule maintained throughout to minimize community impact.
City of Phoenix Specialized Equipment, Piping & Infrastructure Coatings JOC
Phoenix, AZ
Degan was awarded a Job Order Contract with the City of Phoenix in 2023 for protective coatings on wastewater infrastructure. Work covers process equipment, structural supports, piping, tanks, motors, mechanical systems, manholes, and lift station wet wells. Current job orders include manhole rehabilitation with right-of-way permitting, traffic control, surface preparation, substrate repair, and full coating application with quality control testing performed by Degan’s crew.
City of Phoenix Large Diameter Sanitary Sewer Manhole Rehabilitation
Phoenix, AZ
This project consisted of 99 manhole rehabilitations covering Grade 4 and Grade 5 structures. Scope included surface preparation, substrate build-back, underlayment, H2S-resistant 100% solids epoxy coating, and polymer insert installation where needed. Of the 99 manholes, 56 required polymer inserts, 25 needed full top-to-bottom rehabilitation, and 18 needed targeted spot repairs. Every location was on a major or collector street, requiring coordination with City representatives, the engineer of record, and traffic control providers.
Rio Verde WWT Plant Aeration Chamber Rehabilitation
Rio Verde, AZ
Degan successfully completed the epoxy coating of two aeration chambers totaling approximately 13,000 SF at the Rio Verde Waste Water Treatment Plant. The work included surface preparation over an existing coal tar coating system, managing off-gassing, inconsistent concrete conditions between chambers, and structure movement.
Morning Sun Farms Lift Station Rehabilitation
San Tan Valley, AZ
Full rehabilitation of an existing lift station wet well including inspection, clean-out, surface preparation, base reshaping, and installation of a 25-foot deep, 10-foot diameter polymer insert requiring field core drilling. Degan used a 110-ton crane to properly install the insert and complete the work.
Prescott Valley Lift Station, Dry Well & Manhole Rehabilitation
Prescott Valley, AZ
Concrete surface rehabilitation of a lift station, dry well, and six manholes. The dry well sat adjacent to an active creek bed with groundwater near the pumps. The crew pumped out standing water, drilled relief holes to relieve hydrostatic pressure, applied hydraulic cement to damaged concrete, used pressurized water-stop injection to seal the relief holes, and coated the surface with 250 mils of CPP Sprayliner Epoxy.
Sunnydale Lift Station Rehabilitation
Sun Lakes/Paloverde Community, AZ
Full rehabilitation of an existing lift station wet well — cleaning and decommissioning pumps, guide rails, check valves, and brackets, protective coating of the wet well interior with spark testing, installation of new 316 stainless steel discharge piping, and construction of a new discharge vault with piping and valves. Bypass pumping maintained flows throughout construction.
Ak-Chin Indian Community Water Reclamation Facility
Ak-Chin, AZ
SSPC SP-3 surface preparation, epoxy spot primer, and polyurethane topcoat on above-ground carbon steel piping at a tribal water reclamation facility. Work followed a site visit and condition assessment identifying UV degradation on exposed piping.
City of Bisbee — San Jose WWTP Digester Rehabilitation
Bisbee, AZ
Surface preparation and protective coatings on Digesters 1 and 2 at the San Jose Wastewater Treatment Plant. The coating system applied was Tnemec’s Epoxytec, with MortarClad N218 resurfacing followed by 125–150 dry film thickness mils of CPP Sprayliner.
